Customer shipment-tracking portal with Magaya and CargoAI
Orpheus developed a customer-facing shipment-tracking portal for Sovana Global Logistics, integrating operational data from Magaya with automated air-shipment updates from CargoAI. The work included milestone tracking, two-factor authentication, notification emails, and portal reliability improvements.
Sovana Global Logistics runs its operations in Magaya. Orpheus built Sovana Track, a customer portal that turns that operational data into self-service shipment visibility, completed in 2023.
Shipment visibility customers can reach on their own
Sovana Global Logistics manages its shipments in Magaya, its logistics operations system. Sovana wanted its customers to be able to follow their own air, ground, and ocean shipments online.
Orpheus built Sovana Track, a customer portal on Sovana’s WordPress site with a React front end. It reads each customer’s shipments directly from Magaya and adds air-cargo tracking from CargoAI.
The screens on this page come from the portal’s original code, run locally with fictional demonstration data. No customer or shipment data is shown.
Secure access with two-factor authentication
Each customer account is linked to its Magaya client record. Customers sign in with their email and password, then confirm a code from an authenticator app. First-time users set up two-factor authentication by scanning a QR code, and administrators can reset it for a customer from WordPress.

Air, ground, and ocean shipments in one dashboard
After signing in, customers see their shipments grouped by air, ground, and ocean, each with its number, bill of lading, and latest status. Shipments can be searched by number, and delivered shipments move to an archive after a week so the active list stays focused.

Milestones, flight events, and documents on one page
Each shipment page shows its milestones from Magaya as a timeline, with ordering corrected and duplicate events removed, alongside the shipper, consignee, cargo, and shipping instructions. Customers can download the shipment’s documents directly.
For air shipments, the portal adds a track-and-trace timeline from CargoAI by air waybill number, showing each booking, departure, and arrival with flight numbers, pieces, weight, and carbon emissions. Tracking results are cached for six hours.
Updates without having to check
The portal checks Magaya for new and updated shipments every ten minutes and watches air-cargo events for changes. Updates appear as in-app notifications, and notification emails go out for new shipments and shipment updates.
